Victor Garcia’s Listening Party
Victor Garcia’s Listening Party
Grammy-nominated trumpeter, vocalist, and composer Victor Garcia is a powerhouse of versatility and creativity. Examiner.com's Neil Tesser hails him as “one of the most exciting young musicians,” while Howard Reich of the Chicago Tribune praises his “formidable technique and radiantly polished tone.” JazzChicago.net’s Brad Walseth crowns him a “young lion trumpeter.”
Garcia’s artistry transcends boundaries—he sings, plays percussion, and writes, arranges, and orchestrates with a mastery that has earned him faculty posts at Roosevelt University, Loyola University, and the University of Illinois Chicago. His collaborations span legends from Aretha Franklin and Wynton Marsalis to Tito Puente Jr. and The Isley Brothers.
His debut album, The Grind/The Groove (2018), showcases his distinct voice as a bandleader. Beyond his solo work, Garcia’s performances and recordings appear on dozens of albums, including three that have received Grammy nominations.
